Quotidian - Objectspace, May 15 - June 26, 2010

Quotidian - finding inspiration in everyday design Between the May 13 - 26 Cybèle and 10 other New Zealand design practitioners will be participating in an exhibition called Quotidian, curated by Matthew Blomeley. Each designer willtalk about examples of everyday design, uncovering how design ideas are recycled, leveraged, refined and can in turn inspire new design. They will each showcase an everyday design object alongside an object of their own design and write about their understandings - and discoveries - brought about through considering the vices and virtues of "everyday? objects. Participants featuring in Quotidian include fashion designers Cybèle Wiren, Adrian Hailwood; industrial and product designers Formway, Peter Haythornthwaite, Matthew von Sturmer, Guy Hohmann, Jamie McLellan, Katy Wallace; design studio Alt. Group; graphic designer Jonty Valentine; architect Nat Cheshire. You can check out the exhibition at Objectspace, 8 Ponsonby Road, Auckland from 15th - 26th May, the gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday 10-5 and admission is free.
